Fred Griffin: Relocating to Tallahassee? Here are 4 Great Upscale Grocery Stores!

Relocating to Tallahassee? Here are 4 Great Upscale Grocery Stores!

Tallahassee now offers Four great "Upscale" Grocery Stores.  We've had The Fresh Market and Earth Fare for some time now.  But this month saw the opening of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.  We live in Grocery Store Heaven!

When you Buy a Home in Tallahassee, you will be thrilled that we have 4 of the most upscale Food Stores in America.

Earth Fare is on Apalachee Parkway near Capital Circle Southeast (convenient to Homes in Southwood Plantation).  The new Whole Foods is in Midtown Tallahassee.  Trader Joe's and Fresh Market are just north of the I-10 and Thomasville Road intersection; they are so close to Homes in Killearn, Homes in Golden Eagle Plantation, Homes in Ox Bottom Manor, Homes in Highgrove, and other Homes in Northeast Tallahassee!

Yes, we in Tallahassee still "shop local" at Capital City Seafood (formerly Mike's Seafood).  We shop at Lynn's Oriental Market for an incredible variety of Asian Groceries.

We also buy fresh seafood from Southern Seafood on Market Square in Tallahassee.  We buy Bradley's sausage, and grits, from Bradley's Country Store.  We get our spices from Little India on Mahan Drive.  We get fresh bread from Cucinella's Bread Shoppe on Apalachee Parkway, and our produce comes from Tomato Land on Thomasville Road at Betton.

But the bulk of our meat, dairy products, eggs, and other groceries come from The Fresh Market, and from Trader Joe's, and from Whole Foods, and from Earth Fare.  These Upscale Grocery Stores are clean, exciting, fresh, and super-friendly!

Mike, you have no idea how much I wish there was a Whole Foods or Trader Joes here on the Space Coast.

I'm sure there are many more reasons to buy a home in the Tallahassee area, but the stores that you mentioned is certainly a good start.

Make it a great week!

We have Whole Food and Trader Joes in Dallas; however I am not a big fan of either.

Kerry, I feel your pain.  We waited forever to get these stores.

Thanks, Joe!

Richard - as for Trader Joe's - we eat honey and drink pomegranate juice and cranberry juice.  Trader Joe's prices are HALF of what the mainstream grocery stores charge; the products are superior.  Same with salsa.

re:  Whole Foods - yes, we've heard the one about "Whole Paycheck".  They do have very high quality products; look for the sales (this week, Sockeye Salmon $12.99 lb).   But stay out of Whole Foods during lunch rush and dinner rush - the place gets mobbed!
